Writers' Guild Club Publications

Artifact

 

Student-Produced Magazine

36 pages, 8.5x11 inch format

Circulation: 1500 approx., for now online only at this link

In the Quad, Bookstore, etc., each month.

Starting in the fall of 2006, the magazine hit the quad with a distribution of 300 copies. That number quickly grew to 500 per issue. In September 2007, circulation grew to 1,500 copies a month, allowing the Writers' Guild to distribute 500 copies through the San Joaquin Public Library system.

Deadline for Submissions: submit at any time, issues come out during the Spring and Fall semesters monthly.

 

Open to any Delta Student, Alumni, Faculty or Classified Employee, etc..

 

Needed: poem, prayer, short story, essay, article, mystery, sci-fi, cartoon, comic strip, romance, thriller, travelogue, photograph, political tirade, artwork, anime, aphorism, any genre. Bilingual work encouraged. Include a short biographical statement and a photo of yourself in jpeg format.

You get a free "Write to Live!" Writers' Guild T-shirt (while supplies last) for the first time you are published in the Writers' Guild publication Artifact, or you may also buy a T-shirt for $5.00. Come to a Writers' Guild meeting on Wednesdays at 2:30pm in Shima in the Collegian room upstairs to pick them up meetings will have a break for the Summer and reconvene in the Fall, when the new locations are determined they will be posted here..

Frequency of Publishing: Every two months "Bimonthly"

Cost: Free at distribution places, $12 a year to have 6 bimonthly issues delivered.

Advertising cost: $40 for full page, $25 for business card size. Discount: 15% off a 3 issue contract

Distribution areas: Colleges, coffee shops, book stores, libraries, other places in Stockton, Sacramento and San Francisco areas, subscriptions to mailing addresses globally.

Deadline for submissions: 25th of month before publishing.

The calendar of issues begins with the December-January issue each year.

 

Open to any Delta Student, Alumni, Faculty or Classified Employee, etc.

Needed: poetry, other creative writing, artwork, photography, quotes, truisms, recipes, reviews (of books, movies, dining places, etc.), public events, and basically anything that might interest people who are interested in the arts or live in our area.

We require two to four lines of biography about the contributor. Bio photo optional. No pdfs please. Contact info for mailing a free copy needed.  We will have our preferred font choice and size.
